Here’s how to setup an Android Phone or tablet to sync your email, contacts and calendars with Office 365 – there are several versions of the Android operating system so icons and wording may vary:
- Tap Settings
-
 |
or |
 |
- Tap Accounts & Sync.
Note: Some Android phones don’t have this step so you can skip to step 3.

- Tap Add Account

- Tap Corporate. On some devices this option will be named Microsoft Exchange, Exchange or Exchange Activesync.

- Enter your Office 365 email address and password. You can also choose to set this email address as the default account when sending email from this device, and then tap Next.

- Depending on your mobile device and the way things have been configured for your domain name (DNS records), your phone may now be configured automatically so skip to step 8. Otherwise, you may have to enter the following information:
-
Domain\Username: user@domain.co.nz
-
Password: <<Your Password>>
-
Server: outlook.office365.com
- Note: On some phones, the domain and username fields are separate. In this case, leave the domain field blank.

- Ensure that “Use secure connection (SSL)” and “Accept all SSL certificates” check boxes have been selected. Once the Account Setup section is complete, tap Select and Next.
- Your device will now verify the server settings online. If this fails, go back to step 6 and check the spelling of the items you’ve entered – especially the password.

- If everything is correct, you will be asked to accept the IT policy for your company. You must accept the policy by tapping OK or you will not be able to sync mail.

- Choose your preferred syncing options and tap Next.

- Next you can enter a name for the account (eg Office 365) and tap Next.
- The final step is to Activate the account. Once you’ve activated it, your email, contacts and calendars will begin to download to the device.
